One physician, from consult to results
Digestive & Liver Center of Arkansas is a physician-owned practice, and that shapes what care here looks like. The doctor who sees you in clinic is the one who performs your procedure and the one who calls you with your results. Nothing is handed to a colleague you have not met.
Ihab Herraka, MD
Board-certified in gastroenterology, internal medicine and obesity medicine. Diplomate of the American Board of Obesity Medicine. In practice since 2012, and caring for the Arkansas River Valley since 2016. He is currently accepting new patients, sees patients in English and Arabic, and is rated 4.8 out of 5 based on 201 patient reviews on Birdeye. Dr. Herraka completed his internal medicine residency and his gastroenterology fellowship at the University of Florida and Shands in Gainesville. He is a member of the American Association for the Study of Liver Diseases (AASLD), the American College of Gastroenterology (ACG), and the American Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy (ASGE). The combination of certifications is unusual and it is the point. Fatty liver disease is rarely a liver problem on its own. It is usually driven by weight, insulin resistance, blood sugar and cholesterol. A physician certified in both gastroenterology and obesity medicine can treat the liver and the metabolism behind it in one place, rather than referring you between two offices that never compare notes.
