Requesting an appointment online

You can send an appointment request through the form on this site any time of day. We respond within one business day, and most patients are scheduled promptly. Please do not send urgent medical concerns through the form (see emergency guidance below), and include a phone number where we can actually reach you.

What to have ready when you call

Having these on hand keeps the call short:

  • Your insurance card, including any secondary coverage
  • Your date of birth
  • The name and phone number of your primary care provider
  • A list of your current medicines and doses
  • The name of any doctor who referred you, or who ordered your recent tests
  • Dates and locations of recent bloodwork, imaging or a prior colonoscopy
  • A short description of your main symptom and how long it has been going on If you are calling to schedule a first visit, ask us to send your new patient forms ahead of time so you can fill them out at home. Once you are an established patient, ask our front desk about setting up patient portal access, where you can review results, check appointments and send non-urgent messages.

When to skip the phone and get emergency care

Call 911 or go to the nearest emergency room right away if you have:

  • Severe or sudden abdominal pain
  • Heavy rectal bleeding, or bleeding that will not stop
  • Vomiting blood, or vomit that looks like coffee grounds
  • Black, tarry stools
  • Chest pain, trouble breathing, or fainting
  • Fever with severe abdominal pain
  • New confusion, severe drowsiness, or deep yellowing of the eyes or skin These can be signs of a serious problem that needs care faster than an office visit allows. Do not wait for a callback, and do not drive yourself. For symptoms that are troubling but not emergencies, call our office during business hours and describe what is happening. Our staff is used to sorting out what needs to be seen today and what can wait.

Frequently asked questions

How soon will someone get back to me?

Online requests are answered within one business day. If you call during office hours and we cannot answer right away, leave a message with a good callback number and we will return it.

Do I need a referral before I contact you?

Usually not. Most patients contact us directly. Some plans do require a referral, and our staff will check that when we verify your benefits. See our insurance page for what we accept.

Can I get my test results over the phone?

Yes, and many results are reviewed with you by phone or through your patient portal. Biopsy and pathology results take longer than lab work, so we tell you when to expect them. Our patient resources page explains how results and questions are handled between visits.

Where is your office?

Our clinic is at 3416 Old Greenwood Rd, Fort Smith, AR 72903. That is where GI visits, colonoscopy, upper endoscopy, hemorrhoid banding, liver testing, fatty liver care and medical weight loss all take place, and parking is free and on site.

Do you see patients from Oklahoma?

Yes. We care for patients from Poteau, Sallisaw and across eastern Oklahoma, as well as Fort Smith, Van Buren, Greenwood, Alma, Barling and Charleston.

How do I request my medical records?

Call (479) 242-2888 and ask for records, or send a request through your patient portal once you are enrolled. Let us know where the records should go and we will handle the rest. --- To schedule a GI visit, a colonoscopy, hemorrhoid treatment, liver testing, fatty liver care or medical weight loss, call Digestive & Liver Center of Arkansas at (479) 242-2888, 3416 Old Greenwood Rd, Fort Smith.
